The Nairobi hospital CEO James Nyamongo confirmed his death in a statement.
"It is with great regret that we announce the sudden and untimely demise of Professor George Magoha this evening at The Nairobi Hospital," The Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongo said in a statement.
Magoha was appointed Education CS in March 2019 where he took over from former CS Amina Mohammed.
He was sworn in on Tuesday, March 26 at State House Nairobi at a ceremony witnessed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He became the fourth Education Cabinet Secretary to serve under Uhuru’s regime since his election in 2013.
Uhuru expressed confidence that Magoha would manage the finances in the education ministry in a proper and good manner and ensure that the new competency-based curriculum would be implemented without fail.
True to Uhuru’s expectations, Magoha became a fierce defender of the newly introduced Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
In the final stages of the Jubilee administration, he personally inspected the construction of classrooms in readiness for the admission of the pioneer class of Junior Secondary school learners who transitioned this January.
