Gunmen disguised as lab technicians raided a medical facility in Kilimani area and robbed workers of cash and valuables.

The incident is the latest in a series of attacks in the area linked to political lawlessness.

Police said they are pursuing the gang, which has been linked to the incidents in the past week alone.

Victims and police said the gang arrived on two motorbikes before two men wearing white lab coats alighted and walked into Ability Therapy Centre along Muchai Road at about 1pm Wednesday where they pretended to be in need.

They then ordered workers and patients present to lie down, police said, citing witnesses.

The two were joined by their accomplices and demanded cash and other valuables, including 15 mobile phones and an unknown amount of money.

They later walked out and rode off.

Police arrived at the scene and said they are reviewing CCTV footage that captured the gang’s activities and movements.

Police said they are pursuing leads into the incident, even as they advised those targeted to cooperate.

Nairobi police boss James Mugera said they have enhanced police patrols in the city in efforts to tame crime linked to the current political campaigns.

Meanwhile, a mason fell from the tenth floor of a building at a construction site in South B and died.

Police and witnesses said Arnold Kihingi, 19, fell from the tenth floor of the building Wednesday afternoon as he worked on a site.

He died on the spot. Such accidents have been on the rise in the city with little attention being given to the safety of the workers. Officials from National Construction Authority said they are investigating the incident.

And three suspected thugs were Wednesday shot dead in a botched robbery incident in Githurai Kimbo, Nairobi.

The suspects were in a group of two others in two different motorbikes and had been robbing pedestrians when police were alerted, prompting a chase.

Police said two others managed to escape the scene and that they recovered a pistol, car spare parts, a torch, a motorcycle and a blow-cut machine, among other crude weapons.

The bodies were taken to the mortuary awaiting postmortem and identification.
