The Indian classical dance Kathak, is widely enjoyed across the world and involves small metallic bells ‘Ghungroos’, strung together as musical anklets tied to the dancers feet.

Kenyans joined in on the action on Sunday afternoon as the Oshwal Center Auditorium in Nairobi hosted a presentation of the exquisite art form.

The dance recital included two main dancers, Kumar Sharma and Khyati Thapliyal, accompanied by four live musicians, Jayant Patnaik (tabla), Ganesh Sawant (Pakhawaj), Sangeet Mishra (Sarangi) and Lubhanu Priy (vocals).

This Navrang Fine Arts presentation left the audience in awe, as the dancers were flawless, poised and graceful. The recital ended in a thunderous applause from the audience.
