Deputy President Kithure Kindinki has said all regions are receiving equitable development regardless of how they voted in 2022.

He said the Kenya Kwanza government is accountable for all Kenyans and would not peg development on the previous or upcoming elections.

"This government is serious and considers all parts of the country equally, regardless of who they voted for in 2022," Kindiki said.

He spoke during a consultative meeting with MCAs from Ukambani at his official Karen residence in Nairobi on Monday.

"No. We are developing your areas because the people you represent are Kenyans and are taxpayers. They deserve development. It is their right," the DP said.

He urged MCAs to focus on securing development for their people and avoid being distracted by petty politics.

"Engage yourself on serious matters that will help improve the lives of your people, Ukambani included," Kindiki told the MCAs.

The Deputy President pledged to work closely with MCAs to ensure development projects are hastened.

He said the ward representatives play a big role in implementation of development initiatives and have a bigger impact on society as they are more familiar with the people’s needs.

Kindiki assured the MCAs that in him, they have a loyal ally who will champion the interests of Ukambani people and all Kenyans at large.

"Do not feel left out. As a neighbour and brother, your interests are my interests," the DP said

“As Deputy President of Kenya, I will not let you down. MCAs from Ukambani and all over Kenya, you can count on me to support you and your people to get maximum benefits from this government,” Kindiki stated.

The DP has pitched camp in Ukambani, holding empowerment meetings with the youth, women and small scale-traders.

He encouraged leaders not to shy away from demanding development, saying the region deserves an equitable share of projects just like any other.

He said it is disappointing that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is being dragged into a very unfamiliar and uncharacteristic political space.

"Kalonzo is not known for ethnic politics or polarising politics," he said.

Wiper party wrote show cause letters MCAs who have been attending meetings with Kindiki and President William Ruto at Statehouse.

Speakers Katisya and Kiusya have received the show cause letters.
