Directorate of Criminal Investigations sleuths, attached to Athi River police station, have launched investigations into the murder of an unidentified man whose body was found on the outskirts of Athi River town, Machakos County.

The body was found lying at the edge of a feeder road in Sheep and Goat village within Athi River North location on Monday at 10.00 pm.

The incident was later reported to the Athi River police station by a local administrator as a murder incident report.

Subcounty police commander Jos Mudavadi said the officers were probing the misery behind the man’s death.

“Orderly officer, duty officer and DCI personnel visited the scene and body of an unknown male adult with multiple injuries on the head was found lying at the edge of the feeder road,” Mudavadi told the Star by phone on Tuesday.

Mudavadi said blood was all over the deceased’s face with foam in the mouth when police got to the scene.

He said the scene was documented and the body was moved to Shalom Community Hospital mortuary awaiting identification and autopsy.

“The case is pending under investigations with the subcounty criminal investigations officer,” Mudavadi said.

No arrests had been made in connection to the incident by press time.
