Ukambani professionals laud Kalonzo for joining Azimio

They said Raila stands a chance to win the presidential race in August and that he will accommodate professionals from Ukambani in his cabinet.

Professionals drawn from Ukambani region have lauded wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for his move to work with ODM Leader Raila  Odinga.

Speaking at a Sagret Hotel, the professionals led by Raphael Muli said Kalonzo’s move guarantees them to be in the next government.

They said Raila stands a chance to win the presidential race in August and that he will accommodate professionals from Ukambani in his cabinet.

“Ukambani region and the larger lower Eastern has suffered constant water shortages, we need dams to be put up so that farmers can get water. That will be the best way to help the farmers,” said Muli.

Muli who is a Public health specialist, added that as professionals from Ukambani,  they are ready to serve in Raila’s government.

“The Kamba Nation is full of brains. In the current cabinet, we have Energy CS Monica Juma among other top senior civil servants. We have asked our people to support President Uhuru Kenyatta, his brother Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka. Raila will get at least 95 percent of the Kamba vote,” Muli added.

Muli also reiterated that  the business community in Eastern region wants the next government to provide a conducive environment for trade.

He said once barriers to trade are removed, many business people will be able to make profits.

On March 12th , Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka  shelved his presidential ambitions to support Raila Odinga.

Speaking at Jacaranda Gardens during a charged political rally, Kalonzo said he considered Raila's age and decided to support him.

“Today I stand here in good faith. I say Raila Tosha”. Kalonzo said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who was also present said he supports Raila Odinga. 

Odinga said he will complete all projects started by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He asked the crowd to reject the wheelbarrow which is a political symbol of Deputy President William Ruto.
