ODM party leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday addressed the Chatham House in the UK.
During his speech, Raila raised concerns over the country’s rising debts, saying that Kenya is now approaching the US $100 billion in public debt.
Raila said the country is now in the group of “the most debt-stressed" nations.
He said that when Azimio la Umoja Movement takes power come August 9, it will put in measures to ensure that the loans being borrowed are friendly in terms of interest.
The former Prime Minister landed in London on Monday for a series of high-profile engagements.
He will hold talks with top UK government officials on trade, investment, development, politics, security and the regional situation.
The ODM leader, who is accompanied by at least five Azimio leaders, was received by Kenya's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu on Monday morning.
Raila will on Tuesday morning meet UK Minister of Armed Forces James Heappey at MoD headquarters
