Governor Fatuma Achani has called on Kwale residents not to participate in tomorrow's (Wednesday) protest.

The peaceful protests are set to be held by a section of county ODM leaders and Civil society organizations in support of the opposition-led nationwide protest over the high cost of living.

Achani said the demonstrations are uncalled for since President William Ruto is working hard to stabilize the country's economy.

"Please give Ruto time to straighten things up. The old regime looted everything," she said.

Achani said Ruto found the country in a mess and he is trying to better the lives of Kenyans by transforming the economy.

The governor said Ruto had to start from the start in rectifying the mess left by his predecessors.

Achani said Kwale residents should have faith in Ruto's administration because he always delivers.

She warned that the demonstrations will derail the efforts in bringing the country back on its feet.

Achani advised the locals to keep off from visionless leaders whose only agenda is to incite people to violence and cause disunity.

She urged the youth to resist being misused by politicians for their own self-political interests.

Achani said demonstrations will solve nothing but disrupt peace and unity.

The governor said Kenyans should pray for Ruto and support his administration for it has good agendas and solutions to the many country's problems.

"Let's pray for him so that he gets the courage to keep going. He has a huge responsibility of making Kenya great again," she said.

Achani said the Kenya Kwanza government has really tried in tackling the challenges affecting the economy and common citizens.

She said counties have seen progress within the past few months of Ruto's leadership despite the delay in the disbursement of funds to the developed governments.

Achani said advised both county leaders and residents to work together regardless of their different political affiliations.

She said more development is set to trickle in Kwale if Ruto is given the required support.

Achani said being teargassed and getting arrested for disrupting peace won't promote development but poverty.

She made the statement on Tuesday while launching the Chale Health dispensary in Kinondo, Msambweni sub-county.

Meanwhile, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition is set to lead a section of Kenyans on another countrywide protest on Wednesday.

It would be the first time for Kwale residents to join Raila in protesting against Ruto's government.
