Marsabit DCI track down murder suspect on the run for five days

The 19-year-old was found in his Marsabit town hideout with the suspected murder weapon

A suspected murderer was arrested in Marsabit town after being on the run since December 22, 2022.

Officers of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office have arrested a man suspected of murder.

DCI arrested Lolim Emojong Echakara, 19, who is believed to have murdered Abdi Jaldesa in cold blood on December 22.

They reported that detectives based at DCI Marsabit central finally arrested him in Marsabit town.

"After committing the crime, he immediately went into hiding," they said.

However, following a tip-off by a member of the public, the suspect was flushed out of his hideout today morning.

"A blood-stained knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered from him," they said.

DCI said the suspect is currently being processed for arraignment tomorrow morning to answer to charges of murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal code.
