Coast Kenya Kwanza leaders congratulate Ruto

Leaders from the Coast region have joined others, especially those allied to Kenya Kwanza, to send congratulatory messages to President-elect William Ruto.

Salim Mvurya, the outgoing governor of Kwale who marshaled the South Coast to vote for Ruto, expressed his joy on Twitter. 

"Leadership and leaders come from Allah. May His name be praised. We now have Kenya's President-Elect HE Dr William Ruto," he wrote.

Lung'anzi Mangale, the gubernatorial candidate who vied and lost in Kwale on the Pamoja African Alliance party, followed suit on Twitter.

"Congratulations HE Dr William Ruto for being declared the fifth President of the republic of Kenya," Mangale tweeted.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala also tweeted his message and wished Ruto well.

"Congratulations on your victory Dr William Ruto, President-Elect, Republic of Kenya. It is by God's grace and the true will of the people you were elected President. You have the ability to transform this country for the betterment of all," Balala tweeted.

The CS is the only one in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet who has so far congratulated Ruto.

"Wishing you the best as you prepare to assume the responsibilities that come with such a high office. Hongera! God be with you, God Bless Kenya," he added.

Hassan Omar, the gubernatorial candidate for Mombasa, and a key Ruto ally in Mombasa also tweeted: "Congratulations President-Elect William Ruto the 5th."

Omar is vying for the Mombasa governor seat on a UDA party ticket.

Mohammed Ali, the Nyali MP, also tweeted his message, and invoked God’s name.

"William Samoei Ruto declared Kenya's fifth President-elect. There is God in heaven," Ali wrote.

Amason Kingi, the outgoing governor of Kilifi, and leader of the PAA party expressed his happiness on Twitter.

"Congratulations to our Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate and President-Elect HE President William Ruto. We have no doubt you will steer this country in the right direction and turn around our economy for posterity," Kingi wrote.
