Betty Kyallo's sister Mercy Kyallo also defended her sister regarding the ownership of the once-embattled Posh Palace beauty spa.
Information out there is that Susan Kaittany was the brains behind the luxurious beauty facility and that Betty was the face of the business.
The business is situated in Kilimani, Nairobi. Mercy, through the sisters' reality show 'Kyallo Kulture', clarified all that, claiming that it was her sister's idea.
"I knew Posh Palace was Betty's idea, her very first baby, and she shared it with Susan when I was there," Mercy Kyallo said.
Betty said her once-blooming relationship with Kaittany was ruined by what she termed betrayal.
"Susan was more like a sister to me than Mercy and Gloria at that time," Betty said.
"After maybe like three years of very good friendship, there was a very big betrayal that I never thought would ever happen to me."
Mercy said her sister and Kaittany were constantly arguing, turning their business into a toxic environment for both of them.
It was then that Betty walked out on their partnership and started 'Flair by Betty' beauty spa.
The spa was located right opposite her nemesis' spa at the popular FCB Mihrab building.
"I have a freaking big brain, when I leave I never look back. And I was like, 'I'm gonna be okay'," Betty said.
In an interview with Word Is in 2018, Susan said she hired Betty to market her salon as she thought Betty Kyallo would help a big deal by bringing along her social media clout.
"I met Betty Kyallo when she was getting married," she said.
"It was a celebrity wedding. We sponsored the wedding, we sponsored the honeymoon to Dubai and Mauritius, and after that, we became friends.
"And of course, having done the influencer marketing with her for our events and travel company, I really wanted them to be happy. I knew that if Kenyans saw them happy then definitely, it would reflect very well on our company. And that is exactly what happened."
Susan said she brought on board Betty but that did not work out as it did not convert to sales as she had hoped.
"I think influencer marketing should remain influencer marketing," she said.
"It is one thing to do influencer marketing and it is another to actually give somebody shares and then bring them in as a partner."
Betty has since launched other businesses, like After Shave by Flair.
