Former police spokesman Charles Owino.

Many police officers are praying for a new police spokesman. This follows the exit of Charles Owino (pictured) two months ago. These officers now feel the service is exposed without an official spokesman handling many of their affairs. They feel the image of the service is deteriorating due to lack of proper communication. This is going to get worse ahead of the coming general elections. Will Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai do it soonest because we are told he has a name already?

A vocal senator was recently overheard disparaging his party leader’s campaign narrative as boring and not resonating with Kenyans. The man made that statement as he stood barely two metres from his boss who was addressing the press. The lawmaker, who is not new to controversy, said his party leader has chosen a tired narrative that he said may not catapult the good politician to the high office he is eyeing in the 2022 elections. Instead, he said, the party leader should loosen his purse strings, saying money is the language the majority of voters hear.

A governor and a former MP from Western are locked in a bitter fight over influential bloggers. Corridors of Power understands that the bloggers, who played a key role in the county boss’s victory in 2017, have abandoned him for the former legislator. The man is eyeing the seat in next year’s polls. According to those in the know, the former lawmaker has held several meetings with the keyboard warriors. They have agreed to publish the governor’s dirty deals in what has sent chills down the spine of the county chief and his handlers. The bloggers have termed the governor a man they know ‘all too well’.

On Tuesday, we told you of a lawmaker and his wife who have been playing hide and seek with their workers over unpaid salaries running into millions of shillings. Well, we have since learned that trouble started for the couple after the MP’s wife was swindled out of more than Sh5 million by one of the lawmakers’ staffers. Reliable sources intimated to Corridors that the lady was duped into believing that the money would help her take part in a gold and gemstone business, which failed. Part of the money that she lost to the racketeers was to help them pay salaries and expenses.
