Kwale NASA leaders have said the Jubilee administration has nothing meaningful to offer Coast residents.

They accused it of failing to end land injustices and instead focussing on cosmetic exercises meant to hoodwink residents. Senator Issa Boy, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori, Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza (pictured) and Kinango’s Benjamin Tayari said Jubilee administration has nothing to offer to Coast residents because since 2013, it has done nothing to fix the squatter problem and widespread landlessness.

They said that despite locals getting title deeds, they want big chunks of land with expired leases to be shared among the landless locals in Kwale. Tayari said he has started fighting for “my people’s land” in Mwamdudu, which is being grabbed by tycoons.

“They want a tycoon to take over school land. That’s the Jubilee administration’s plan. We shouldn’t give them any votes,” he said.

Dori said, “You can’t tell us to support JP, yet our people are suffering. Let me tell you, my people, Uhuru won’t solve land problems since he is part of it.

“As your leader, I’m still a squatter at my homeland Gasi. I followed up the issue personally with Uhuru at State House, where I had six sittings, but it was in vain.”

The leaders spoke at a NASA rally in Kombani, Kwale. They expressed regret that some residents are squatters on their own land. The leaders warned voters not to be lured by Jubilee goodies because Uhuru’s reelection will be a blow to the Coast. ”You want us to support the government, yet our people are suffering from high levels of poverty caused by landlessness. If you want my support then solve the land problem once and for all,” Dori said, urging residents to vote for NASA leader Raila Odinga en masse.
