Residents of Matsangoni in Kilifi county lit bonfires on the Malindi-Mombasa highway yesterday to protest against alleged grabbing of land by a tycoon.
The demonstrators disrupted traffic for more than an hour.
They demanded action to be taken against the tycoon.
The tycoon reportedly obtained ownership documents of the 12 acres under unclear circumstances.
He also obtained court orders to demolish the properties of more than 100 people.
