The governor said they have helped the government to identify sick people in the society as well as assisting the government to reach out to the sick and needy at their homes for a long time.
“We normally depend with the CHVs every time we want to know something in the society, they are our eyes in the society when we talk about health. They know nearly everyone in the villages, estates and streets they live in,” he said.

“Being a member of the CHV, I really understand what these people go through. My colleague Kinyanjui is also aware of that,” Wamwere said.
“CHVs swear to volunteer. You are called to assist when you also need some help. These people attend to people but even they themselves need help,” he added.
Kinyanjui said CHVs create friends and enemies as they assist the government implement policies to ensure it has a healthy nation.
They spoke at ACK church in Kimende town during a chicks distribution exercise aimed at empowering the society.
Lari CHVs secretary Martha Gathoni said the stipends will boost their morale.
“Even if we have not lost our morale, we shall work extra hard to assist the government achieve its mission,” Gathoni said.
Wamatangi supported Nyutu’s appeal to other MCAs to support the bill, saying CHVs are all over in the country.
