A member of the Kiambu county assembly has asked President William Ruto to subject the controversial Finance Bill 2023 to public participation.

Kijabe MCA Nyutu Wamwere on Monday said there is a need for the public's opinion to be considered before the bill is acted on by parliament.

He noted that it was important for the State to listen to people's views, especially at this time when the country is facing economic challenges.

"Issues involving money are very sensitive. Holding public participation is very important to find a consensus that will enable the country to move forward," he said.

He spoke at Kimende Posta grounds where he registered over 600 students to join Nachu Technical and Vocational Training Institute.

The students will take different courses that will help them secure employment locally and internationally.

Nyutu encouraged the students to work hard and keep discipline so that they become role models in society
