How Bensoul, Nviiri became millionaires

Speaking to Word Is, Bensoul said he was 20 years old when he got his first million.

Nviiri said he got his in 2019 after signing with the Sol Generation record label.

"In 2019 is when I managed to make my million from the music career," Nviiri said.

"I held my first million a long time ago, when I used to make jingles and adverts for companies," Bensoul said.

"It is a beautiful feeling and you realise people recognise your work and talent. I made it from my talent, not some funny business like money laundering or stealing from people."

BenSoul, who is expecting to be a dad for the first time, said he is ready.

"I feel nice and I am ready to be a dad. Life is about planning. When life presents a corner for you, you go with that. If it brings forth a mountain, you climb with it," he said.

The two artistes are currently working on a project called 'The Dope' tour, which involves going around to universities across Kenya, selling out a philosophy of 'Discipline, order, passion and excellence'.

Nviiri said they are hoping to inspire more kids and tell them that it is possible to make it in life.

"Our target audience is campus students. We have partnered with Absa coz they also have an App called 'Ready to Work', which targets students who are completing their education," he said.

BenSoul said the reason he is on the project is to ensure he impacts as many youths as possible.

"We want to preach the culture of being 'Dope' and show the youths the importance of making money," he said.

"The venture was started by Sol Generation and they hope to involve other artistes in the country."

The Dope tour will also involve talented youths performing during the tour.

Ahead of the General Election, the duo encouraged the youths to preach peace.

"Don't wait for the election to save you. use your talent and show all your cards wherever you are. But start by voting wisely for your leaders," Bensoul said.

The first and second events of the series took place at Moi University in Eldoret on June 3 and in Mount Kenya University on June 18.

Both events featured masterclass sessions in the morning hours on career selection and opportunities on the free learning app Trace Academia, and an entertaining concert in the afternoon.
