Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua has said they are prepared to take over government and transform the lives of the majority of desperate Kenyans.
He said Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga is gambling with the lives of Kenyans and the electorate will reject him come August 9.
“I know the next government will be formed by Kenya Kwanza. Raila should stop hiding behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and Martha Karua, as he won’t get any votes from Mount Kenya,” Gachagua said.
The Mathira MP spoke on Wednesday when he traversed Limuru and Lari constituencies drumming support for Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto.
He said even if Raila clings to Karua, he will not get votes from the area as the region already signed an agreement with Ruto.
Gachagua said the people of Mt Kenya are fully behind Ruto and the UDA fraternity.
He urged Uhuru not to impose Raila on the people saying his (Raila) traits are known by Kenyans.
"Kenyans are no longer illiterate. We have five million highly educated youth and it is clear Raila and his ilk don't understand the plight of Kenyans. We will roll out empowerment programmes that will elevate their lives," Gachagua said.
He said the Kenya Kwanza government will look into the problems facing coffee, tea, rice and horticulture farmers in Mount Kenya.
The legislator said the current government has failed to assist farmers who contribute enormously to the growth of the economy.
He rallied the people of Mt Kenya to vote for UDA candidates who will act as Ruto’s supporters both in the National Assembly and counties.
Gachagua further said the next government will take care of the unemployed youths by creating job opportunities.
He also promised that the Kenya Kwanza government will take care of the police forces by improving their way of life, while also introducing free education.
The MP was accompanied by William Kabogo (Tujibebe Party), Moses Kuria (Chama cha Kazi) and Kimani Wamatangi (UDA).
Kabogo, Kuria, and Wamatangi are facing off to succeed incumbent Governor James Nyoro who is defending the seat on a Jubilee ticket.
Kabogo called on his supporters to vote for him on August 9.
He said the Kenya Kwanza administration will solve most of the problems that Kenyans are facing.
The former Kiambu governor said residents should vote for leaders who will transform the society.
“Kaba Kabogo (better Kabogo) and I will transform the lives of the people of Kiambu and we will take over from where we stopped in 2017," he said.
Wamatangi echoed Gachagua's sentiment of a six-piece vote during election.
He said DP Ruto is best suited to succeed Uhuru as he (Ruto) understands the problems of the people.
The Kiambu senator promised that if elected governor he will create employment and resuscitate the economy.
Kuria said residents should vote for the best candidate who holds their visions at heart.
He said Raila and Azimio are lying to Kenyans, while the cost of living soars.
