In Summary

•Parents should also play their roles and follow up on what their children are doing, check up on them frequently and learn to listen to them.

•Lastly, students should learn to open up, express their emotions and struggles with people they trust.

Depression and other mental illnesses have been linked to suicide.

Most parents and people assume that when a child is in university, they are mature enough to make their own decisions.

However, this ignorant behaviour from parents has led to depression, suicide cases, use of drugs and prostitution among children with men and women who are old enough to be their parents.

Abortion cases have also been on the increase in institutions of higher learning.

Our future generation is dying while we all assume our children are doing well.

This problem should be addressed keenly among our students in universities to avoid going astray.

The government should make guiding and counselling a mandatory session for all campus students so that they can be properly advised on the struggles they are facing.

It should ensure that the counselling session is free so that all students can be able to attend

They should have forums that help the students express their struggles and emotions so that they can help one another.

Lectures too should also try to be close with their students and help them focus more on their studies.

Parents should also play their roles and follow up on what their children are doing, check up on them frequently and learn to listen to them.

Lastly, students should learn to open up, express their emotions and struggles with people they trust.

Let's take care of our future generation.
