Two people yesterday died on the spot and another was seriously injured after they were hit by a speeding lorry at Mumbi, Ol, Kalou.
Boda boda operator wa Gathua and resident Waithira Thirikwa were killed when the lorry, which was transporting cement, went out control and hit them.
Witness Gardson Kamau said he was speaking with Waithira on the roadside while a woman and her daughter were negotiating the fare price with Gathua beside.
He saw the lorry hurtling toward them and pushed aside Teresiah Nyaguthii and her daughter Elizabeth Nyambura. “Unfortunately wa Gathua and Waithira were hit before they escaped,” Kamau said.
The lorry driver and co-driver fled.
