Educationist Waithaka Mbugua has urged parents to pay extra attention to their children’s education. He spoke at Kwaregi Primary school on Monday during the launch of MP Mburu Kahangara Education Initiative. It aims to improve secondary school education.

“Our parents are able to take care of their children as well as follow up with what they do at school, but they seem too busy with business and farming,” Mbugua said. “They must know some of their role isto help teachers achieve the best education for their children.”

He was with initiative chairman Mwangi Maina as well as teachers, parents and pupils of the school. Kahangara said most form four leavers attain grades that cannot secure them a position in higher education institutions. “In Lari, we are almost last in the 12 constituencies in the county,” he said.
