Kenya Holiday Homes has signed an agreement with Swiss International for the development and management of a Sh7 billion five-star resort at Naromoru.

The resort is scheduled to open next year and will have a total of 281 villas, apartments, townhouses and an all-suite hotel.

The units will be sold to individual home owners and made available by fractional ownership.

"The resort is currently under construction on the scenic foothills of Mt Kenya, at Naromoru. It is a perfect location for weddings, conferences, team building and outdoor events," Kenya Holiday Homes developer Ronald Ndegwa said.

Swiss International chief executive Henri Kennedie said the resort will increase their hotels in Africa to five.

The company runs two hotels in Nigeria, one in Rwanda, and one in Sierra Leone.

It also runs a chain of hotels in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, China, the Middle East and Africa.

"We are fully committed to hotel expansion in Africa," he said.
