Top SMEs, startups, entrepreneurs, and corporates were recognised for excellence in their fields at the ninth Pacesetters International Awards (PIA) held in Nairobi.

Username Properties has emerged as the most trusted real estate firm in the country; at the same time, studies show that only 14 per cent of buyers return to the same estate agent for future transactions.

The recognition at the Pacesetters Awards 2025 celebrates the commitment to integrity and innovative property solutions that make land ownership accessible to Kenyans both locally and in the diaspora.

The award comes on the backdrop of a recent report by Spectre, a top UK real estate marketing agency, which indicates that neglecting trust fosters a negative perception.

This, even as various studies show that acquiring a new customer can be up to 25 times more expensive than retaining an existing one.

Speaking during the event, Sarah Wahogo, CEO Username Properties said that she was delighted to receive the prestigious award that highlights the firm’s steadfast and innovative approach.

“Being recognised as the Trusted Leading Real Estate Firm Company in Kenya is a true testament to the hard work we have put in over the past 13 years. This achievement reflects our commitment to excellence, first-class customer service and the consistent delivery of title deeds to our valued customers,’’ she said.

She added that that her firm remains committed to offering affordable, strategic and value-added properties with ready title deeds, upholding.

Username continues to innovate with initiatives like PropCart, a listing platform that helps Kenyans to list their properties and reach clients faster. This is just the beginning of more seamless processes to come as we fulfill the home ownership dreams of all Kenyans.”

She reassured Kenyans of Username’s enduring mission to safeguard trust by offering innovative, affordable, and value-driven property solutions with ready title deeds.

Other firms that were honoured at the ceremony include Safaricom and Kevian Kenya.

Jared Oundo, executive director, Jubilant Stewards of Africa, lauded the winners, emphasizing the impact of the SMEs on Africa's economy.

Small and medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in the development of Kenya’s economy.

They are the engines for a country’s economic growth. A recent National Economic Survey report by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) indicated that SMEs constitute 98 per cent of all businesses in Kenya, creating 30 per cent of the jobs annually as well as contributing three per cent of the country’s GDP.

“This year’s Pacesetters Awards highlighted extraordinary businesses driving Africa’s SME sector forward, particularly those excelling in Corporate Social Responsibility and leveraging technology for innovation.”

“These companies have shown resilience, growth, and impact that are transforming the continent’s economy.”
