vivo Unveils V50 5G in Kenya: A powerhouse for portraits and performance

vivo has officially launched its advanced portrait flagship smartphone, the vivo V50 5G in Kenya, bringing together top-tier mobile imaging, ultra-fast charging, sleek design and AI features at very competitive pricing.

At the core of the V50 is a powerful ZEISS co-engineered imaging system, making it an advanced portrait smartphone in the country. The 50 MP “All Main Camera” setup features DSLR-level stabilization (CIPA 4.0), AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0, and three portrait focal lengths with ZEISS Style Bokeh effects tailored for creators, influencers, and photography enthusiasts.

Speaking during the launch, James Irungu, vivo Kenya’s Brand Manager, emphasized the brand’s user-first philosophy:

“The vivo V-series has always been about empowering users to capture life’s moments. With the V50 5G, we’re taking another leap in mobile imaging. Its advanced portrait features, premium design, and strong performance raise the bar for smartphones in this price range. We’re focused on delivering tools that enhance every part of our customers’ digital lives.”

To connect with local audiences, vivo is offering the V50 mobile phone in stunning range of colors inspired by nature such as the “Mombasa Starry Blue,” inspired by Kenya’s coastal scenery and the Satin Black.

The phone features an ultra slim 4D Infinity Curved screen, anti-mistouch tech for gamers, and an IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. It combines sleek looks with durability, key for users across diverse climates and lifestyles.

The V50 goes beyond just camera performance. It stands out for its power enhancements. It’s powered by a slim long lasting 6000 mAh (TYP) BlueVolt battery, 90W FlashCharge, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset designed to keep up with a user’s all-day mobile phone needs, from simple tasks such as mobile banking to creating reels for Instagram to remote work and WhatsApp calls. With 12 GB of RAM and up to 12 GB of extended RAM, the V50 can run over 40 apps simultaneously with ease.

The vivo V50 is now available nationwide through authorized retailers and top e-commerce platforms. The phone is retailing at just Sh69,999.

The V50’s launch in Kenya isn’t just another product drop, it marks vivo’s evolution from a rising brand to a serious player in East Africa’s tech space. With a focus on portrait photography, powerful performance, and stylish design, the V50 5G shows that Kenyan consumers are ready for flagship features at an affordable price.
