Police are conducting an investigation into a tragic incident in Miangeni village, Makindu, Makueni County, where a man voluntarily turned himself in and confessed to the murder of two individuals.

The suspect is accused of using a panga (machete) to fatally attack two of his colleagues at a farm in Makindu on Christmas Day.

A witness account indicates that the suspect had taken cattle to graze on a farm owned by a white settler in Makindu.

It was during this time that he reportedly got into an altercation with one of the farmhands.

The confrontation escalated, leading to the suspect striking the farmhand with a panga, resulting in immediate fatality.

A second individual, who attempted to intervene, met a similar tragic end, sustaining lethal injuries in the assault that occurred on Monday, December 25, according to police reports.

He then walked to a local police station and surrendered.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Makindu sub-county hospital mortuary as investigations continue. 

Police said they are interrogating the suspect.
