Homa Bay inks deal to boost value addition for animal products

The Homa Bay county government on Friday entered a deal with Tunasco International to modernise facilities for animal rearing across the county.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Tunasco on behalf of the county.

Tunasco Chief Executive Officer Abdulwalli Shariff Ahmed was present.

Wanga said the deal is meant to develop cutting-edge facilities for animal rearing including abattoirs.

It is also meant to set up a green energy park and warehouses that meet European Union standards

"The MoU is further meant to modernise abattoirs and create dairy product packaging rooms in Homa Bay to be based at Riwa Special Economic Zone," Wanga said during the signing ceremony at the county headquarters.

The governor further noted that the counties objective remains value addition and that the deal will help boost farmers incomes.

Shariff expressed his satisfaction in working with the Homa Bay county government and promises to deliver.

Tunasco had offices in Nairobi, Kampala in Uganda and Juba in South Sudan. 

The company's aim is to provide outstanding quality products and services in the seven sectors of its trading.

They offer services and products in building materials, fast-moving consumer goods, healthcare, petroleum, construction, defense and energy.
