WORLD’S leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, YADEA, made its official debut at Autoexpo Kenya 2026, marking a significant milestone in its East African expansion strategy.

The company headlined its participation with the global launch of KIFA, a commercial electric motorcycle developed specifically for Africa's commercial mobility market.

Kenya becomes the second East African market for YADEA after Ethiopia, where the company entered three years ago and has since sold more than 48,000 units.

Building on this success, YADEA is now targeting Kenya as a key growth market in its mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation across the region.

KIFA is a commercial electric motorcycle developed specifically for Africa's thriving boda boda sector.

With a 250 kg payload capacity, a 770 mm extended comfort seat, and a 220 mm reinforced rear cargo rack, the vehicle is designed to support both passenger transport and logistics delivery, enhancing operational efficiency across a variety of commercial applications.

Equipped with dual removable 72V 30Ah LFP batteries, KIFA offers a range of up to 150 km and supports battery swapping in as little as 30 seconds, helping reduce downtime for commercial operators.

YADEA is working with local ecosystem partners, including Kenyan battery-swapping company ARC Ride, to advance electric motorcycle and battery-swapping solutions for local mobility services.

In addition to KIFA, YADEA showcased a full product lineup covering high-performance motorcycles, urban commuter models, and commercial mobility solutions, underscoring its long-term commitment to the African market.

Among the highlights were the high-performance Keeness motorcycle and the GT25 and GT60 commuter models, which are planned for introduction into Kenya.

The company also presented the GT70, a model developed for food delivery and last-mile logistics services, further strengthening YADEA's ability to serve diverse mobility needs across both consumer and commercial segments.

Since launching its African market expansion through its first partnership in Morocco in 2023, YADEA has continued to strengthen its localisation strategy across the continent.

Today, the company has established business partnerships in more than 20 African countries and is steadily building its sales and service network to better support local customers.

"Kenya represents a strategic market in our East African growth journey. Following our success in Ethiopia, we are confident that our innovative electric mobility solutions will meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation in Kenya and the wider East African region,” East Africa market director at YADEA, John Zhang.

“Through our partnerships with local dealers and ecosystem players, we are ready to serve the market with a wide range of products tailored to both commercial and personal mobility needs."

Zhang added that YADEA's extensive global manufacturing capabilities position the company to support Africa's transition to clean transportation.

Supported by ten global manufacturing bases and industry-leading research and development capabilities, YADEA has developed extensive expertise in product development and market operations across both commercial transportation and personal mobility, Zhang noted.

With its expanding presence in Kenya and the rollout of locally developed products such as KIFA, YADEA is advancing a more systematic and localised approach to Africa's green mobility transition, contributing to global sustainability through its smart manufacturing strength.

Founded in 2001, with over two decades of industry experience, YADEA is the world's leading electric two-wheeler brand by sales for nine consecutive years.

The company specializes in the research, development and manufacturing of electric motorcycles, electric scooters, e-bikes and electric kick scooters, as well as batteries, spare parts and accessories.

It is present in more than 100 countries and serves over 100 million users through a global network of more than 40,000 retailers.
