The battle for Kenyas billion-dollar beauty industry is heating up as global brands look to grab a share of this market.

As of 2022 Kenya’s beauty industry was estimated to be worth Sh100 billion with a growth of almost 400 percent per annum.

As attestation to the growing sector, many foreign investors have established presence in the Kenyan market and are now increasing their products range to tap more Kenyans.

L'Oréal Paris, is the latest brand to increase its offering in the local market following its unveiling of the Glycolic Bright range, aimed at providing relief to millions of Kenyan women grappling with the menace of dark spots on their skin.

Kenya's beauty industry has witnessed a remarkable surge in innovation and diversity, catering to a wide range of skincare, haircare, and cosmetic needs.

This burgeoning sector has reflected a growing awareness and appreciation for self-care and personal grooming among Kenyans.

One of the key driving forces behind this growth is the increasing availability of locally produced beauty products that are specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of Kenyan consumers.

Over the past few years, consumer demand within Kenya's beauty industry has shifted significantly. Consumers are now more likely to purchase natural and organic products and those that are cruelty-free and environmentally friendly. 

The launch of the new range coincides with L’Oréal’s inaugural “Walk Your Worth Event” to commemorate International Women’s Day in Kenya.

Focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa, where women often grapple with uneven skin tone, the scientifically advanced new range signifies a significant stride towards inclusivity within Africa’s beauty industry.

The Glycolic Bright range is now readily available in cosmetic stores and select online outlets, offering convenience to consumers.
