Aviation company 748 Air Services has announced the resumption of daily flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to the Maasai Mara.
The announcement made on Monday comes after the cessation of movement was lifted by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his national address on Labour Day, May 1, 2021.
In a statement on Monday, the company said its customers can purchase a return ticket to the Mara for Sh22, 180 ($206).
As the world prepares to witness the forthcoming Wildebeest Migration season, both the local and international tourists have been asked to book.
The wildebeest move into Maasai Mara between July and August. They cross the Mara River in large numbers during the short rainy season.
“We are encouraging local and international tourists to make bookings now as the peak season of Mara is approaching,” MD Moses Mwangi said.
Bookings can be made directly on the 748 Air Services website www.748airservicesltd.com.
The company has assured its clients that their safety will be observed by adhering to the Covid-19 protocols set by the Ministry of Health.
Kenya Airways also announced the resumption of its domestic flights from Nairobi to Kisumu, Kisumu, and Mombasa.
KQ said that it will fly twice per day to Mombasa and once per day to Kisumu as it continues to review the option of increasing frequencies as demand picks.
The airlines had suspended the local services following the orders from the government that restricted the movement into and out of the five counties that had earlier been categorized as red-zoned.
The five included Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Nakuru.
The orders were revised by the president following the decline in the spread of coronavirus.
