Boston Marathon champion Hellen Obiri admits that there are many races lined up for her but she is still uncertain about her next assignment.

Obiri said she is waiting to discuss with her coach, Dathan Ritzenhein before settling for one of the races.

“I have so many options. We have not yet decided on the next race I will be competing in. I have to sit down with my coach and decide the best race for me. We will announce soon and hopefully, it will be this season,” Obiri said.

She added: “I am training at Boulder, Colorado in the USA and my next race will probably be in August. I will compete in a 10km race as I prepare for my next marathon,” she added.

Two-time Olympics 5,000m silver medalist has had a stellar season so far, losing only once. She opened her season with a win at the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon and New York 21km, where she clocked 1:05:05.

She then went on to reign supreme at the Boston Marathon, clocking 2:21:38—12 seconds ahead of second-place Amane Beriso from Ethiopia.

She then jetted back into the country for the Kenya Defence Forces Championships, where she won the 5,000m race in 15:19.70.

Her only loss came during the New York Mini 10km race, where she finished second behind Ethiopia’s Senbere Teferi. Teferi outsprinted Obiri to win in a personal best and course record of 30:12 while the Kenyan managed 30:19.

“I need to work extra hard because a lot of people are watching me. Everybody is aware that I am doing well and they have to monitor my performance. I have to make them happy by winning races and being consistent,” Obiri noted.
