The Senate committee that is investigating the Shakahola deaths will on Monday visit Pastor Ezekiel Odero's New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni, Kilifi County as part of their probe.
The 11-member ad hoc committee chaired by Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana is expected to be picked up from the Mombasa airport at 8.30 am and they will go directly to Mavueni.
Mudavadi, Juma to lead second assessment team to Haiti
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi and National Security Advisor Monica Juma are scheduled to leave for Haiti for a second assessment mission.
The team is set to meet the Haitian authorities and sign various agreements ahead of the planned deployment of Kenya police to combat gangs in the Caribbean nation.
Sources said the trip is planned for this week or at the weekend depending on the availability of needed resources.
Court to rule on bail of twelve NIS employees linked to Sh166m Sacco theft
A Kahawa Law Court will on Monday deliver a ruling on whether twelve employees linked to the disappearance of Sh166 million from National Intelligence Services’ (NIS) Njiwa Sacco will be released on bail.
The accused persons have been in remand since September 26.
The prosecution presented a 57-page charge sheet with 232 charges against the accused.
Gold scammers suspects to be arraigned in court
Three suspects arrested over the weekend in Runda estate in an ongoing crackdown against gold scammers will be arraigned in court today.
The three will be produced in court on either a miscellaneous application or charged before the court.
The suspects, Fauzia Wanjiru alias Issa, Shallo Fatma alias Tett and Jackson Ochieng were arrested at Momesa Vale following an intelligence-led operation.
Ruto to give address at the Belt and Road Summit
President William Ruto is on Monday expected to give an address at the Belt and Road Summit in China.
He arrived on Sunday to a grand reception upon landing at the Beijing Capital International Airport.
This is President Ruto's first visit to the Asian country since his election last year.
Other heads of state and representatives from more than 130 countries will also be in attendance.
