Narok Senator Ledama Olekina now claims that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will cry the most when the current perceived political happening comes to an end.

His remarks come at the backdrop of claims that Gachagua is being sidelined by President William Ruto.

The senator said he has accepted that this is the reality they live in now, and he will shift his focus to working for the people.

"I have fully accepted it! This is indeed the reality! But the person who will cry the most, in the end, is none other than Rigathi Gachagua isoright…wacha sisi tufanyie wakenya kazi Junet Mohamed ero Sasa nimekubaki hi imeenda…" Ledama said on Twitter.

There have been claims that Ruto has sidelined his deputy following the changes announced via Executive Order No.1 of 2023 gave specific responsibilities to both Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

In the roles given, Mudavadi is assumed to be the man to watch having been put in charge of government delivery, and execution of President Ruto's development agenda across the country.

Gachagua was left to coordinate devolution and chair Cabinet Committees with the actual planning, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of state projects under Musalia Mudavadi.

Other roles the Prime Cabinet Secretary will handle include overseeing the implementation of national government policies and programmes in liaison with the Interior and National Administration ministry.

He will also oversee the operations of the state corporations as well as spearhead the delivery of government services.

Mudavadi will addition to other roles oversee the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature.

Gachagua will also oversee the revival of the coffee sector, in addition to being in charge of the national and county government honours advisory committee as well as the budget council as spelt out in the law.

He will chair Cabinet committees and also oversee the implementation of Cabinet decisions.

The DP is also the liaison person for constitutional commissions and independent offices on budgets, policy formulation and implementation of recommendations.

Gachagua will also oversee public sector reforms as well as coordinate donor projects.
