The National Assembly Committee on Appointments disagreed on the approval of five of the 24 names nominated by President William Ruto to his cabinet.
The Star was reliably informed that the committee chaired by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula unanimously approved 19 Cabinet secretaries' nominees but was sharply divided on the fate of the remaining five.
The four were among the nominees whose conduct was the subject of heated debate during the vetting, with some members of the panel saying they fail the threshold of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
