Two men who were filmed while hanging dangerously on a moving vehicle along Mombasa Road have pleaded guilty to the offence.

Peter Igadwa and Peleg Monari were Tuesday arraigned before Milimani Magistrate Martha Nanzushi and charged with riding in a dangerous position contrary to the Traffic Act.

The two were filmed hanging on the window of a Mercedes Benz even as it was being driven at a high speed.

The charge sheet indicates that they did so by sitting on the door of the motor vehicle on April 20, at 3pm.

Igadwa said he behaved in the manner he did as it was his first time to ride on a Benz. They both asked the court to impose a lenient sentence.

Magistrate Nanzushi subsequently directed the probation officer to produce in court a pre-sentencing report on Monday next week.

Their behaviour caught the attention of Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen who pledged to take action over the incident.

He at the same time shared the details of the car including the owner.

"We are concerned and a responsible citizen has alerted us. We shall do what we must," the CS said on X Monday.
