Home duo to lead over 30 pairs at Kiambu international qualifiers

Kiambu Golf Club captain Caesar Mugo will partner his predecessor Mike Nyangi at the sixth leg of the prestigious International Pairs Golf Tournament on home course on Saturday.

The tournament has also attracted top Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) players led by national captain John Lejirma, his deputy Adel Balala and KAGC series leader Elvis Muigua.

Mugo and Nyangi will seek to take home ground advantage when over 30 pairs battle for tickets to the Grand Finale scheduled for July 27.

The top three performers at the July event will secure a fully paid trip to Tenerife, Canary Island, Spain for the World Finals between August 31 and September 4.

Mugo said they are gearing up for an electrifying event.

“We have 30 pairs of talented golfers already signed up to vie for the coveted five slots in the grand finale. This exciting tournament will feature skilful play and camaraderie among the participants,” said Mugo.

He said spectators should expect a thrilling day filled with exceptional golfing action and impressive displays of sportsmanship.

The International Pairs Golf Tournament is part of a global series that aims to promote golf and foster international sporting connections.

Winners of the Kiambu event will advance to the next stage of the competition, where they will represent their region in the grand finale.

Mugo and Nyangi will tee off at 12:30 pm.
