Man dies after girlfriend allegedly stabbed him in a domestic brawl in Nakuru

Police say the fight was seemingly fierce as both of them were admitted in critical condition

A 25-year-old man has died after he was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend following a domestic difference.

The man had been undergoing treatment at Molo Sub-County Hospital with his girlfriend since Monday this week.

According to Molo sub-county police commander Timon Odingo, the fight took place on Monday in the Mutiritia area of Molo Sub-County of Nakuru county following a disagreement.

“The fight was seemingly fierce because both of them were admitted in critical condition, unfortunately, we lost the young man to the injuries today,” he said.

Odingo said the girlfriend was also 25 years of age and was undergoing treatment at the Level Four facility while under police custody.

“The woman also has multiple injuries in different parts of her body, however, we are treating her as the principal suspect in this matter and we have placed her under very close police surveillance,” he said.

He identified the deceased as Kelvin Otieno.

He added that Otieno’s body was removed to Molo Sub-County Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.

Officers from Molo police and DCI established that the man had stab wounds on the lower right abdomen.

Odingo said the scene was immediately visited, processed and documented for further investigation.
