National Assembly's select committee formed to probe impeachment allegations against Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi is expected to reconvene.

The 11-member team chaired by Marsabit Woman Rep was formed last week after the House voted to impeach the CS.

The members are meeting for in-house activities before embarking on marathon hearings where witnesses will be called to testify.

Linturi will also be accorded the opportunity to defend himself.

They are set to table the report in parliament on May 13.

Mandatory evacuation

Demolition of structures near riparian land and along the river banks in Nairobi is set to continue today.

The exercise spearheaded by KDF in collaboration with other security agencies commenced last Friday.

Fertilizer case

Businessman Josiah Kariuki is to be charged today in a Sh209 million fake fertilizer case.

He is set to appear to take a plea.

Milimani Anti-corruption magistrate Celesa Okore last week said failure for Kariuki to appear in court will result in the issuance of a warrant of arrest.

Through his lawyers, Kariuki told the court that he was not aware of his required appearance in court on Thursday last week.

Obado case

Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s murder case continues today.

The prosecution has three remaining witnesses before it closes its case.  All three are police officers.

One of them is identified as Sergeant Hassan from Homa Bay who was in the Investigating Office when the case began.
