The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the reopening of its portal for the final revision of the course choices.

This also serves as the second revision and targets applicants who are yet to secure a course or those yet to submit their course selections.

In a notice, the agency says the portal will be opened until April 25, 2024.

It is being reopened for application to unfilled programmes in universities, TVET institutions and Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC).

Applicants, who have already secured a course, it says, need not log in.

“… instead should wait for the release of placement results after all applications are processed.”

The first revision was opened on March 18 and closed on April 4.

It allowed students who did not make any application for courses to submit their applications.

Additionally, applicants who failed to secure any course had an opportunity to apply afresh.

The first application period took place between February and March this year where 2023 candidates who scored above C+ were able to make their applications.

Further, any Form Four leaver with any KCSE mean grade from the year 2000 to 2023 and who has never enrolled in a tertiary institution can apply for a TVET course.

KUCCPS is created under the Universities Act No.42 of 2012.

It was established to coordinate the placement of government-sponsored students in Kenyan universities and colleges.

It develops and implements career guidance programs, disseminates information on available programs, and collects and retains data relating to university and college placement, among other functions.

The institution was formulated after dissolving the Joint Admission Board (JAB), which was the leading player in the placement of understudies to universities.
