A digital card going rounds on social media platforms alleging Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission raided Siaya Governor James Orengo's home is fake.

The digital card has Orengo's photo on one side and the EACC logo on the other side with a bold breaking news on top.

The card alleged that EACC raided the home on January 5, 2024.

"Ongoing EACC raid! more updates to follow," read part of the card.

EACC on their official X handle dismissed the card and stamped it fake.

The clarification comes after EACC announced that the commission is investigating governors and senior county officials from over 35 counties who are allegedly embezzling funds using proxy companies.

“Some are going even to the extent of using interns and young people on attachment to open proxy companies that are later used to steal public funds.”
