THE Shariff Nassir Foundation chairman Abdulswamad Nassir has asked the government to provide KCPE candidates with food.
Abdulswamad said it is difficult for candidates to sit the exams with discomfort occasioned by hunger. He said the government should develop feeding programmes for schools during the three days of the KCPE.
Abdulswamad was speaking after distributing food to about 3,800 candidates in 58 public and private schools in Mombasa Island.
“We hope delivering the meals in schools will make it easier for our candidates to concentrate in their exams rather than move up and down looking for lunch,” said Abdulswamad. He said rushing home for lunch and back to school inconveniences and unsettles some candidates.
He said the foods should be balanced so that the children get the right nutritional value. This is the third straight year the foundation has distributed food to KCPE candidates.
