Intel picks Kenya for regional base
Semiconductor chip maker, Intel Corporation has set up a regional base in Kenya to serve its expanded operations in East Africa. The American multinational said this is in readiness to increase its products and services in the market as its plans to be more aggressive in the face of intense competition with other global players. Danie Steyn, Intel General Manager for East Africa said the company views this region and other developing blocs as the key markets where significant growth opportunities in computing will come from in the next few years. “The three largest and fastest growing market segments in emerging markets are Corporate IT, Consumer and Government, with each providing great opportunity for Intel,” said Steyn while making the announcement yesterday.
