Rugut warns rogue police in Gatundu

Central PC Japheth Kiplimo Rugut has told residents of Gatundu that disciplinary measures will be taken against rogue police officers accused of collaborating with criminals in the district. Speaking at Gatundu DCs office, Rugut said the measures will be instituted once investigations over the named officers conduct are complete and might include dismissal and not necessarily transfers.

The PC was responding to claims by residents that some of the officers at the Gatundu police station have overstayed and in the process become friendly with criminals. He said there people have already been arrested over the incident and investigations have been launched to ensure that others at large are arrested and arraigned in court. He assured residents that security has been beefed to ensure residents go about their day to day activities without fear. He said that the incident which affected transport between Nairobi and Thika Towns was likely to interfere with the national economy and said all will be done to ensure that criminals are not allowed to interfere with peace loving wananchi.
