Four people have been accused of killing a Seventh Day Adventist pastor.
Samuel Muchiri, Kennedy Onyango, Samuel Njeru and Joseph Mwangi were yesterday charged with the murder of 58-year-old Evans Orina in Nakuru on December 29 last year
He was attacked by a mob on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle.
The four were however not required to plead to the charge because they are yet to undergo a mental assessment examination, a perquisite to being tried for murder.
High Court judge Anyara Emukule was told that the police require more time to complete their investigations into the killing.
Emukule ordered that they be held at Central police station for seven days to give investigators time to complete recording statements.
He further ordered that they be taken to the Provincial General Hospital in Nakuru for a mental assessment before January 23 when they are expected to plead to the charges against them.
