I didn't ignore county reps, says Kabogo
KIAMBU Governor William Kabogo has denied allegations by the Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo that his government has used Sh513 million without the county assembly's approval.
On his official facebook page, Kabogo said the information, published in one of the local dairies is wrong.
"Ladies and gentlemen of Kiambu county, I would like to assure you that the information that was put on today's newspapers was wrong information.”
The information that was put is that we spent Sh513 million without the approval of the county assembly, this is false information."
Kabogo said the funds in question were approved under the Ministry of Local Authorities.
“The Sh513 million was an approved budget of the former local councils for the financial year 2012-13 which was to end in June 2013. That budget was approved by the ministry of local government which the local authorities at that time fell under,” read the statement.
The governor said his government is intact and funds have been used well.
Kabogo said residents should not be led astray by such claims and they should support him in spearheading development in the county.
“I would like to assure you that the Kiambu county funds are very well managed and we follow the law to the letter. Such false statements are some of the hurdles we have to cross in the process of development and growth,” he said.
“Ladies and gentlemen lets not move our focus from developing Kiambu county and together we will succeed.”
The governor has not been in Kiambu for the past one week. He had accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to China and was expected to jet back yesterday morning.
