Karen Hospital CEO Dr Betty Gikonyo launched her autobiography The Girl Who Dared to Dream last Wednesday evening at the Laico RegencyH otel in Nairobi. In the well attended event, she described her journey as being full of adversity and adventure.
“I remember my mother ailing from cancer when I was barely 14 years old. This book is the story of my life and when all said and done, we are ordinary people,” she said.
The event was attended by some of Kenya’s most well known personalities including chief guest, education cabinet secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi and Betty’s husband Dr Dan Gikonyo a reknowned cardiologist and the Karen Hospital founder.
Also in the audience were Kisumu Senator Prof Peter Anyang' Nyong'o, Justice Joyce Aluoch, Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja and University of Nairobi Chancellor Dr Joe Wanjui.
