A Savings and credit cooperative society owned by members of the Christ is the Answer Ministries has started the process of constructing a Sh7 billion residential project in Nairobi’s upmarket Karen area.

The project by La Nyavu Sacco was launched on Friday by retired Bishop of Citam Dr Bonifes Adoyo, while handing over sublease title deeds to members of the proposed LaNyavu Gardens gated housing project located at Bogani Gardens in Karen.

The project, which aims to empower members of own homes will comprise of 130 houses of between 4 and 5 bedrooms. Adoyo asked the Government to avoid double-speak on the sensitive issue of land use and ownership in the country.

“Instead of issuing statements which cast legal land owners in bad light, the government should create an environment where such land owners are encouraged to release and lease their tracts of land to willing farmers, or even industries to utilize it on long term leases,” said Adoyo.
