Man stabbed over witchcraft

Thursday, April 25, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY EDWIN NYARANGI

A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death yesterday evening at Kerinkan village, Trans Mara.

Confirming the incident, Trans Mara Deputy OCPD Francis Mwangi said Richard Lang’at met the deceased in the village and accused him of having bewitching his daughter.

Mwangi said the two then got involved in a fight. Lang’at stabbed the deceased with a knife on the chest killing him on the spot.

“After getting the information police officers immediately launched a search for the culprit whom we apprehended. We are in the process of taking him to the Kisii High Court where he will face murder charges,” said Mwangi. The police boss said the deceased person’s body was taken to the Akemo Valley Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
