Dozens of couples recently went to Christ the King Catholic Church in Embakasi, Nairobi for a get together organised for them to show each other love weeks after Valentines Day.

The event was hosted by Nigerian priests Father Cletus Udoh and Vitalis Inyang. The duo flew into Kenya at the invitation of parishioners who had heard about the success of the ceremony being conducted in Nigeria and invited them to do the same.

Among the couples that took part in the colourful ceremony was newly elected Embakasi East MP John Ogutu who got down on his knees and gave a rose to his wife. The youngest and oldest couples at the ceremony were awarded by the church for participating.

Apart from celebrating their love the Nigerian priests educated couples on the need to stay united. “We want couples to have time together. Many married people rarely take time to celebrate their love,”Fr Cletus Udoh said.
