A Magistrates Court will today give directions in a case in which six people are being tried for violently robbing two people along Waiyaki way on the same night late Kabete MP George Muchai was murdered.

Erick Muyera Isabwa alias Chairman, Raphael Kimani alias Butcher, Mustafa Kimani alias Musto, Stephen Asitiva Lipapo alias Chokori, Jane Wanjiru Kimani alias Shiro, Margaret Njeri alias Waciuri and Simon Wambugu Gichamba were placed on their defence after the court found that they had a case to answer.

They allegedly violently robbed Gladys Waithera of a motor vehicle worth Sh600,000 at Green Belt estate in Wangige, Kiambu County, while armed with a G3 rifle and pistols, jointly with others not before the court.

They are also accused of stealing other valuables from the complainant, who was also threatened with actual violence.

They allegedly robbed several other victims on similar dates among them one Michael Gituto of a vehicle and personal property all worth Sh416,000 on February 6 on Waiyaki Way.

The accused persons are at the stage of defending themselves against the charges levelled against them but have since asked the court to recall some of the prosecution witnesses.

They seek to cross-examine them on the evidence they have tabled against them before they proceed to defend themselves.
