Outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Manoah Esipisu has been feted as the Diplomat of the Year 2024, from Africa.

He was feted alongside nine other influential diplomats, all based in the United Kingdom.

According to Esipisu, the Award underlined recognition of Kenya's work in building strong bilateral relations and leadership on global issues.

Speaking after receiving the award, the Kenyan High Commissioner said it would not have been possible without the support staff at the Kenyan Mission, his family, the President and the Kenyan government.

"To be performing at the highest level here is because of the support I have got from my colleagues at the Kenyan Mission and from my beautiful wife who is here and my family. and I want to thank them dearly for this," he said.

"Lastly, I have to thank my president for asking me to come to London and our government for supporting me through this period."

The awards ceremony, in its 14th year, is organised annually by the Diplomat magazine. 

Ambassadors and High Commissioners from over 70 countries and diplomats from over 90 countries attended the Awards ceremony held at The Peninsula London on Hyde Park Corner, on Monday.

The awards recognise the outstanding work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community who are trying to better their nations’ well-being.

He was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018.
